Breezy Summer Days with Tobi

After being M.I.A. from blogging in order to finish my first year of college strong, it's nice to be back with a new outfit post. This time, I'm bringing you some summer wear from Tobi. I easily fell in love with the Camillia Skater Dress; yellow has been my favorite color for the past few months. The dress itself is elegant and soft but I added some edge with the West End Denim Jacket. The one and only denim jacket I had (before this one) is fitted and cropped, so it's nice to have added the Tobi one to my closet.

Ditching My Unhealthy Thoughts & Finding Tranquility

I have defined myself as a blogger for two years now. At first, this website was just a place I could express myself when I was having a difficult time. I literally did not care what went on here, and if you look through my archives, you will see how true that is. At one point, I tried to move away from the more sentimental posts that I use to do and focus on what I loved: fashion.

Now, I've come to this point where I've started to realize that I need to get back to my blogging roots. Blogging has become such a hyped industry over the past year and since I am a blogger, I believed I needed to be perfect in order to be popular in this sphere. I don't need to be either of those. Don't get me wrong, fashion is still my life, but I was putting so much pressure on myself to look good. It just isn't healthy.

I've since tried to develop ways to stop worrying and obsessing over little things like appearance. I downloaded an app called Think Up, where you can choose positive affirmations and record them for yourself. It honestly really helps to hear things like "I am letting go of all my worries and fears" or "Every day I become more creative and inventive". Another thing I've been doing is taking walks around campus a few times a day. This not only keeps me physically healthy but mentally as well. Fresh air does wonders!

If you're struggling with having unhealthy thoughts, whatever they might be, take a step back and figure out what you truly need in your life. For me, any form of spirituality can help. That's why I love the affirmations. I also enjoy going through my quote Pinterest board when I'm sad. Words are uplifting...

When I first started this blog, I participated in the 100 Happy Days Challenge. I'm considering doing it again, if anyone would like to join me, email me! We can get a group together to motivate each other. The first time I did it, I was going into my Senior year of high school, and it honestly changed my life. I was doing well at school and at my job, I was finding more to be happy about, and I met my wonderful boyfriend.

I hope you all find whatever truly fulfills you, and never hesitate to reach out. That's something my sisterhood as an Alpha Chi Omega has taught me so far: to always be there for another. By the way, I'm getting initiated this weekend! Yay!
